To all of you out there in 2012 -- which is the bulk of my f-list right now -- here is a message (or three) from 2013:
  1. The world does not end in 2012. (Huzzah!)

  2. 2013 appears to be a very dark place so far.[*]

  3. HAPPY NEW YEAR!! (HUZZAH!)

Right now, I am winding down from a lovely New Year's Eve party here at Chiron Beta Prime with my beloved [livejournal.com profile] cheshcat, my darling [livejournal.com profile] miss_amaranth, the ever-awesome [livejournal.com profile] wolfpeach, the fantastic [livejournal.com profile] dragonmamma, and several folks with no LiveJournals[**]. There were games -- like Give Me The Brain and The Shinnin' -- briefly interrupted by a quarter peal attempt at 21:00 to ring in the new year with some Stedman Doubles. Afterward, there was baked camembert (with garlic bread) and a chocolate fondue! Not a bad send-off for the old year, if I do say so myself!

A traditional year-in-review retrospective for 2012 shall be forthcoming. For now, however, tis time for bed. I hope that all of you still reading from last year are having a spectacular celebration... and I look forward to meeting you when you finally catch up with the times!

[*] Though there are street lamps and the like, which helps.

[**] Gasp!

Yay! And same to you, too! I hope that all the residents of Summanulla -- human, feline, serpentine, or otherwise -- had a brilliant start to 2013!

I shall keep fingers crossed that our paths intersect in the new year. Perhaps now might be a good time to start thinking ahead to the Sooper Sekrit Festival? It would be lovely to see you back there!

Happy New Year! My exciting festivities consisted of cooking and eating some moderately spicy stir fry, and listening to the radio (my TV was destroyed in the flood, and I haven't gotten around to getting another one) as the ball dropped in Times Square. At the stroke of midnight, R. and I toasted each other (he with beer, me with rum-and-ginger), shouted "Happy New Year!", and kissed each other. And then we finished eating dinner.

Actually, that sounds really lovely! I quite admire how you have managed to make the very best of a soggy situation.

You've survived quite a bit in the past two or three years. May 2013 see the Universe give you some karmic rewards for all you've been put through! *fingers crossed*

Thank you for your very kind compliments! ("I am stronger than I ever wanted to have to be...")

Hey, Universe - listen to Nomad, there, and quit proving to me that I'm a survivor :-D
