Landed in Merry Olde England yesterday morning. Had a fabulous day in Oxford, where the October weather feels more like what I would expect from July! After a fortnight away, it was lovely to see my darling
cheshcat again, as well as my furry babies, Giles and The Boy. The Boy, in particular, was absolutely delighted to see me come home. Also, the wonderful
miss_amaranth and I took advantage of the unseasonal warmth to go for a walk through Angel & Greyhound meadow. We were also able to share some special quality alone time, which will help to tide us over during these back-to-back separations.
Now I am back at Heathrow, Terminal 5, where I disembarked yesterday. In less than an hour, I should be in the air again, en route to Chicago and the Event Horizon! Looking forward to seeing the germane
gyades again, as well as my home and my dear furry baby girls, Stumpy and Chirp!
Time to board! Have an awesometacular day, gentle readers, and I shall write again from the other side!

Also, as I am sure you know, Westbound flights are much easier to adapt to. I find that napping for part of the flight gives me enough energy to get through the rest of the day once I land. Then I simply find something productive to keep me busy until a regular bedtime for that time zone, and all is well.
Case in point: After flying from Japan to England, I went to bed at 23:30 BST on Monday night in Oxford, and got up at 07:00 BST Tuesday morning. Then, after flying from England to Chicago, I went to bed at 25:30 CDT on Tuesday evening and woke up at 07:30 CST this morning. So all is well!

Really, the whole family tends to be very affectionate, tempered only by the degree of fear that each one feels. The Boy is basically fearless, so he is always immediately delighted to see me when I get back to Oxford. Last night, after coming to the Event Horizon, Stumpy wasted little time in coming out to request lots of petting. Chirp, on the other hand, was much more tentative. Unless I am in the bathroom or in bed, she tends to keep a cautious distance. In one of those spaces that feels "safe" to her for whatever reason, though, she becomes extremely insistent about receiving love. Is very sweet... but also makes it difficult to read in bed! :-D
I am so glad that you adopted Rocks from us, hon. Thinking back, nearly nine years later, I simply cannot envision a better home for her than what you have provided. Nor a better kitty mommy! *soft smile*
