Apparently the Weather Gods are a little confused about my corner of the world. Partly cloudy and a chance of rain, here. But we don't usually get April Showers in Vegas. :)
I know what you mean, having previously lived in a desert. True, it was a different desert -- the Sonoran instead of the Mojave -- but I remember it well and fondly. The thunderstorms during rainy season were particularly exciting -- everyone went out onto their balconies (us included) to watch the lighting and the rain! Good times!
The long-range forecast predicts showers by Tuesday or Wednesday of next week, but the daily highs will be in the 60s to low 70s F. every day. I just don't like having to run the air conditioner this early in the year; the next electricity bill is going to be rather dismaying.
I'm with you, Love! Plenty more rain today... though I'm starting to see the sun poke its head out, and even a [small] patch of blue sky! Maybe it will be the start of a trend?
According to the man from the Met Office on Radio 2, it's statistically more likely to get snow at Easter than Christmas, which is a weird thought. (I googled to check this wasn't an April Fool.) Apparently, the sea is colder but the land is warming up which causes more turbulence in the air, leading to more rain and snow.
Oh, very interesting! I did not know that -- thank you for sharing, m'dear!
P.S. Thanks muchly for coming down to our little BiFest last week! Twas most lovely to see you! Thank you, in particular, for all the comments you made in our "Relationship Styles & Structures" workshop! They were quite useful! *big hugs*
"April brings the sweet spring showers... On and on for hours and hours!"
We actually had 70F here. In Minneapolis. In March (and now April, too).
This was the first March on record with no snow for the area. But global warming is a myth, made up by scientists because ... ummm ... lemme get back to you on that part...
I'm not quite sure who this is, actually! My first guess would be daurdabla -- am I right?
Hope you are enjoying the seventy degree weather! Maybe someday we will see its like here, too! Meanwhile, the rain in Spain may fall mainly in the plains... but, in England, it falls everywhere! *grin*
P.S. Dontcha know that us scientist-types like to make this stuff up when we get bored? ;-D
Have you seen the "Canterbury Tales Rap"? Tis the first twenty-seven lines of the prologue, done as... well, it's pretty obvious from the title, huh? The pronunciation of the Middle English is surprisingly good, actually!
If you have not yet experienced it, check it out here:
