Wednesday night = Games night. This week, we played a long game of Settlers of Catan. It was close, and when I dropped from nine points to seven by losing "longest road," I thought that I was out of the running... but I was able to make a comeback and win it in the end by playing my third knight to obtain "largest army."

Wednesday night = The week is more than half over. Holy macaroni! Where did it go? I have been busy editing this week. The bulk of my time has been spent on four different projects. (1) For CRESST (the dark matter experiment that I collaborate on), I have been editing and updating the documentation for the electronics and heater wiring, which is an Oxford responsibility. I know a lot more about Corel Draw than I did two days ago. (2) For [livejournal.com profile] gyades, I have been editing his dissertation. Chapter four is almost done now; I can hopefully start on chapter five tomorrow. (3) For Auger (the cosmic ray observatory that I worked on at Fermilab), the technical paper on the Central Laser Facility is almost ready to be submitted externally to a peer-reviewed journal, the Journal of Instrumentation, and to the pre-print archive. Final tweaks and then submission planned for tomorrow. (4) For [livejournal.com profile] cheshcat, I have been helping edit her curriculum vitae and cover letter... as she prepares to begin job hunting in Oxford.

Wednesday night = Less than one week until [livejournal.com profile] resourceress arrives here in England. Yay! And less than two weeks until I move out of the room that I rent in EO-W's house... and into a flat of my own! The three months that I have been here have been nice, but I am definitely feeling that it is time to move on.

Wednesday night = What comes before Thursday morning, when we have an 8:30am video conference with our collaborators in Munich. So I'd better head off to bed, lest I spend tomorrow as a sleep-deprived zombie!
