Mark your calendars!
The final games party at the Event Horizon will happen on Saturday March 11th. These bi-monthly games parties have been happening since I bought the house in late 2003. In that time, they have grown from being a cozy little gathering of five or six friends to becoming a respectable size party with about two dozen attendees at any particular event (twenty-three folks showed up for the last one). They are a place where people from the different circles that I travel in -- physicists, Anarchists, poly folk, and sci-fi geeks -- can mix and mingle. And, of course, they are a lot of fun!
Now, after over two years, this tradition is coming to a close, as I will be moving to England at the end of March. If you are on my friends list, you can consider yourself invited to the final party. I do hope that most of you will be able to attend. This is still a winter party, which means that there will be indoor games (e.g. board and card), as well as snacks and drinks. Pizza will be ordered, because I am not going to grill outside in mid-March. Weather permitting, I will also light one final blaze in the firepit after dark.
As usual, the party will begin at 1pm and last until late. Folks are always welcome to arrive earlier than 1pm but, if you do so, be aware that you will be conscripted into helping with the party set-up. An RSVP is always appreciated, but never required; just showing up on Saturday is okay, too. As always, crash space is available. If you think that you will need crash space, an RSVP would be especially appreciated so that we can prepare accordingly.
Hope to see you soon!
P.S. Since my birthday is March 13, this last party will also double as a thirty-first birthday party for me!
