As of this afternoon, we have eight cats in the Event Horizon. The usual, since December 2003, has been five. However, on Tuesday, I flew the Fox out here from Arizona, since ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
cheshcat will be moving here next month and we will be divesting ourselves of the Tempe apartment. So that puts all six of our cats in one home, once again.
Next, I stopped by Ye Olde Flower Shoppe this week and there was a sign saying, "Kittens in back. Free to a good home." I had no intention of adopting any more kittens, but I am always happy to admire the babies, so I took a look. There were four kittens, each looking about five weeks old: One grey tiger, two orange tigers, and a calico. They were all adorable, and the calico reminded me of Pandora,resourceress's cat, who passed away last summer at the ripe old age of twenty.
Sinceresourceress arrived in Chicago yesterday, I brought her back to the flower shop today. The grey tiger had already been adopted, but the other three were still there. After spending about twenty minutes admiring the babies, we left. resourceress thought for a bit, and then decided that she wanted to adopt the calico and one of the orange tigers. So we went back during the afternoon, and brought two more kitties home with us. Yay for baby kitties!
Right now, the little ones are living in my bathroom, pending a visit to the vet to assure us that they are in good health. Not surprisingly, Totoro is pissed, and spent considerable time glaring at the kittens and whining for attention. Poor thing. Foxy sat atop the bookshelf and I doubt that she noticed them. Similarly, I don't think my four babies had a clue. Go figure.
In any case, it is wrong to keep all this kitty cuteness to myself. So we took a bunch a pictures, which can be seen here: 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 10.
In two weeks, whenresourceress flies back to Boston, we will return to a house of six cats. In the meantime, however, it is really wonderful to have new kittens living with me again...
