Oh, I would love to come visit! I could easily spend a month or more in the UK, visiting you, Nomad, and LJ friends in Kent and Yorkshire and other parts of England, and even way up in the northern wildernesses of Scotland. Alas, I've been in financial difficulty for a number of years, made even worse recently by my having to have surgery and radiation treatments for cancer (see my LJ). I can't afford to fly to England - I'd be hard-pressed to even come up with bus fare to the airport :-(
But hard times aren't going to last forever! And I think you're right - and Nomad said so, too - that you and I would get along famously.
