I tend to agree with you here. I have a tangible connection with Brushwood -- the land, the structures, the energy of the place. ACE is just an organization. I have nothing against them... but I have no particular loyalty to them, either.
We shall see what happens and where Starwood XXX is. But if the same people are going to the same place, then I'm inclined to follow... whether it is called Starwood XXX or Summerfest I.
And, yes, checking out a new festival in its very first year would also be cool!
