Just because I think it is worth mentioning: Today is May 5th, 2005. Which means the date is now 5/5/5 (or 05/05/05, if you prefer). Put month, year, day in any order you like. Doesn't matter for today! (Yes, I'm a numbers geek, I know!)
In other news, work is going pretty well down here. We took the roving nitrogen laser out last night for its first engineering run. Due to an amazing clear-up in today's cloudy weather, it looks like we will get our second engineering run tonight. If all goes well then we will be ready for some serious data taking tomorrow.
I've never been down here in May before; it is really quite stunning. Right now, it is mid-Autumn in Malargue and the leaves are all turning from green to a brilliant shade of yellow. The weather is warm during the day and cools down at night. Autumn leaves are scattered all about the ground, and the air smells like it does in October in New England or at P**T*** (the super-secret Pagan festival that I go to every October). This is a very happy thing...
