Seattle was nice -- we had dinner atop the Space Needle -- but our week in the Alaskan panhandle was phenomenal! We saw breathtaking scenery -- glaciers, icebergs & fjords -- as well as an incredible array of wildlife -- humpbacks, orcas, bald eagles, porpoises, harbor seals and more... There are six rolls of film photos that need to be developed and several hundred digital shots. It may be time for me to rebuild my old photo gallery web page.

[livejournal.com profile] cheshcat and I returned home on Friday night. The weekend was mellow: We watched the original Stepford Wives and Finding Nemo. I finished reading Dune Messiah. We played a couple of games of Carcasonne and, with [livejournal.com profile] elision, a round of Settlers of Catan. And we exchanged our anniversary cards & gifts. As I said, it was relaxing and mellow.

Now I'm at the lab, packing up things for my next trip. In less than four hours, I leave for Malargue, Argentina. In that time, I need to pack, buy Utah Phillips concert tickets, and change my car battery... Whee! I'll be in Argentina for two weeks, then in the NorthEastern United States (New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts) for about a week. Back home again on [False] Labor Day...
