cheshcat had to fly back to Arizona today, because her summer job starts next week. The job is only for June, so she will be back here for July and part of August. Nonetheless, I always miss her when she is gone.
#1) On the way to the airport, I was driving along in the left lane of I-88 when we spotted a mother duck with three ducklings between the left lane and the middle divider of the highway. How they got halfway across a busy interstate is beyond me. Having reached the divider, they realized that they couldn't go on, so they turned back to re-cross the highway. They were walking out into my lane! I fought the urge to swerve onto the shoulder and swung out into part of the middle lane. I didn't hit them and from my mirror, I could tell that the car behind me didn't hit them. The car behind that one, however, swung out onto the shoulder; I think it likely that this car killed them all.
