I'm Never Gonna Stop The Rain By Complainin'
Landed in Japan to find the weather is warm[*], the wind is fast, and the rain is heavy. Looks like I have found myself in the midst of a typhoon!
About to hop a bus to Tokai, my first visit there since the Great East Japan Earthquake and Disaster disrupted our operations at J-PARC back in March. This poor country just can't seem to get a break this year!
Meanwhile, it is worth noting that my last weekend in Oxford (for now) was absolutely fantastic!
fire_kitten and
cheshcat and I went to a dance performance at the Oxford Playhouse on Friday; I attended a bell ringing course on Stedman Triples on Saturday; and we did our Mabon ritual on Saturday night. All of this was fun and good... but the highlight of the weekend, without a doubt, came on Sunday when
miss_amaranth and
cheshcat and I spent the day at the Cotswold Wildlife Park. My beloved
cheshcat had bought me a ticket to be Zookeeper For A Day, and it was an utterly fabulous! All three of us had a most awesometacular time, with penguins and tenrecs and giraffes and lions and iguanas and lemurs and more! (Oh, my!)
This amazing experience deserves a write-up of its own -- replete with pictures and full descriptions. Such will come but, for now, the above placeholder is all you get, gentle readers... as I must be off to catch the bus to Tokai!
Stay tuned!!

As for Zookeeper pics? Hmmmm... Maybe I should post one or two now, as teasers for the longer write-up! That sounds like a good idea...

And yes, Sunday was fantastic. Looking forward to seeing some of the photos on a bigger screen and seeing how they came out (all 800 of them! *grin*.)
Have a good trip to Tokai. I guess you are probably en route right now?
I love you

I'm in my dorm room at Tokai now... and I may just post a couple of pictures from the weekend before I log off for the night. I've not looked through all 817 photos that you took yet, but I glanced at a few and selected a couple of nice ones that I could put up.
Love you lots, Sweetheart!!

However this weekend I will be down at FK's on my slow way to Gatwick and Menorca and I gather that Chesh will also be there. (at FireKitten's not Menorca) so I should get a pretty full update on things.Stay safe in Japan the weather is not looking happy there for some time.

For what it's worth, I should point out that I have been involved in Paganism for seventeen years... and this cycle will be only the second time that I have WORKed every sabbat with the same core group. I particularly like it this time, where we have it structured around a solid core of people... but is flexible enough to add others. I think we have only once worked with just the bare core of three, and we had double digits back in March, at Oestara. With Samhain approaching, we are already discussing plans for the next cycle, with some ideas about making the different sabbats fit together as part of a coherent WORK. Hopefully you will be able to join us for at least some of it!
