So That Was BiCon, And What Did I Do?
About twenty-four hours have passed since BiCon ended. During all that time, I have been trying to think what I should write. This year was... intense. More so than usual -- and that is saying something, indeed!
Reading through the vast number of entries on my f-list, I see that several people have proclaimed this their best BiCon ever. I don't know how to make such comparisons, as each year -- this being my third -- is so very different than the ones before.
As is usual, there were chutes and there were ladders. Maybe the best thing to do is to make a short summary -- by no means intended as comprehensive![*] -- for some of each:
Thanks again to everyone who made this year's BiCon such a success! Also to all the amazing new friends that I met! Am very much looking forward to BiCon 2011 now!
[*] As I have other things to dotoday this week!
[**] Alas, with no LJ (yet).

As is usual, there were chutes and there were ladders. Maybe the best thing to do is to make a short summary -- by no means intended as comprehensive![*] -- for some of each:
- LADDER: Meeting the delicious D[**] and getting to know her much better in a variety of ways. A clever and fascinating woman -- plus she looks incredible in a catsuit! Am very much looking forward to seeing her again!
- LADDER: First BiCon where I never slept alone. In previous years, the ratio seemed to be one night by myself and two nights bringing somebody back with me.
- CHUTE: A horrendous workshop on consent that failed so utterly at providing safe space that it actually triggered traumatic reactions in quite a number of people. This activated my inner Peter Parker and I did the best that I could to help those that I saw had been shaken.
- LADDER:
cheshcat rocked in so many ways that I cannot even track them all!
- LADDER: Lots and lots of snogging! Yay for snogging!
- CHUTE: The local food options were rather dreadful. This idea of "make sure you keep yourself fed" works better when there are things one wishes to eat!
- LADDER:
josington rocks like a rocking thing. Which is a lot!
- LADDER: A Friday night massage followed by an intense flogging. The combination was utterly astounding and just what I needed right then and there. Suffice to say that brain did not switch on again for the rest of the night!
- CHUTE: The dance floor space was much smaller than in previous years. That made it correspondingly more difficult to cut loose on the dance floor. Tis a shame, as that has been something I really enjoyed at both of my previous BiCons.
- LADDER:
darkfloweruk's "Smutty Storytelling" workshop was one of the best that I have ever attended! Shivers and chills abounded as the energy in the room crackled!
- LADDER: Parties! And more parties! And even more parties, still!
Thanks again to everyone who made this year's BiCon such a success! Also to all the amazing new friends that I met! Am very much looking forward to BiCon 2011 now!

Would love to see you again soon, Sweetie! Details not terrible important. If you're swinging by my neck of the proverbial woods, do give me a shout. If you're not, let me know and a trip back to Cambridge should be fairly easy to arrange!
