Good question, old friend! I was wondering about that myself for awhile -- why would I be looking away from the Sunrise??

The answer is in the picture. Right next to me, you can see the lovely miss_amaranth, clad in the pink knit hat she received for Yule from one of our covenmates. Got her? Good. Now look at what she is holding up: In her hand is my camera (the one used to take the other photos in this entry). She is taking a "self-portrait" of her and me, with the Sunrise in the background. Which, after much puzzling, explains why we were looking away. Rather than ignoring the Sun, we were posing with it.
