I've handled (non-venomous) snakes of various sizes, and it's always an interesting experience. Both the texture of their skin, and the way their muscles operate, feel very different from the mammals we're used to petting. I rather like snakes - the only reason I don't have a pet snake is because I could never bring myself to give it live prey to kill and eat :-(

Crocs and gators, not so much, although they, like tortoises and turtles, have a sort of Jurassic look in their eyes. Think there really might be blind albino alligators in the New York City sewers? :-)
