Not really, no. I earn a little more here than I did in the States -- my take home pay is about 10% higher each month[*]. So the amount of money in my pocket each month is roughly the same... but the price of fuel is two to three times higher. Seems like a pretty fair comparison to me, really. Unless I am missing something?[**] [*] Of course, had I stayed in the States, my take home pay there would also now be at least a few percent higher than it was two years ago. So the pay rise is even less than it seems.
