Dropped [livejournal.com profile] resourceress off at the airport this evening. She should be landing at Logan any minute now...

After posting yesterday's entry, [livejournal.com profile] resourceress went over to M&C's house to have a very nice dinner with C. She had made mushroom lasagna, which was quite delicious. And she had some of her crafty creations as gifts for both [livejournal.com profile] resourceress and I. I swear, that woman does just about everything! Anyway, we ate and talked for nearly five hours, which made for a very good evening. I swear, some of the things she tells us, I can hardly believe. She and M are German, living in the US since 2001. In that time, she has had people ask her the most ridiculous questions, like:

  • Are there cars in Germany?
  • How is the situation over there with the war?
  • Are you afraid of going back, what with the regime and all?

And, of course, she says that ignorance about reunification ("Wasn't Germany always unified?") is commonplace... Good gods, can people truly be so stupid?!?

Today, I took the day off as my last chance to spend time with [livejournal.com profile] resourceress before I move. We slept in and ate leftover lasagna for lunch. She finished giving me the last parts of my birthday present (which includes knitted red-and-black arm warmers, miniature versions of my kittens, and more!), she gave me a chair massage, and then we played drums together until I had to take her to the airport.

Overall, it was a very good weekend... which is not surprising for when [livejournal.com profile] resourceress and I get to spend time together. During the course of the weekend, I was particularly struck by how many talents [livejournal.com profile] resourceress has on her character sheet. Just during this weekend, she gave me knitted presents (see above), taught [livejournal.com profile] polymorphism and [livejournal.com profile] cheshcat rope and knot skills, gave me a massage, and gave me a drum lesson. Plus, if she had brought equipment, she could have run as a street medic at the anti-war march on Saturday. I'm pretty darn lucky to be involved with somebody so talented...
